Carolyn Johnson-Butte, Child Care Program Director

Carolyn Johnson-Boutte' graduated from Tougaloo College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Gerontology and Social Work. Carolyn has worked in the Social Services area since she graduated from Tougaloo College. After graduating, she was employed with the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) as an Eligibility Worker with the Division of Economic Assistance and as a Social Worker with the Division of Family and Children Services.

After leaving MDHS, she was hired by CMPDD as a Case Manager with the Area Agency on Aging where she was responsible for coordinating and arranging services for the frail elderly in order for these individuals to remain in their homes. Presently, she is the Director of the Child Care Program where she is responsible for insuring the adherence of fiscal policies and procedures, monitoring fiscal and programmatic operation to assure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Also, she is responsible for developing supervisory standards for the child care program compliance, planning and conducting for indoctrination and training of all personnel involved with the child care program and soliciting the active cooperation of all appropriate agencies to enhance coordination of all supportive services resources within the service delivery area.
