SANTA FOR SENIORS
"Santa for Seniors" was a wonderful success in 2001. CMPDD was very pleased to work with Jackson Association of Realtors, Inc. and Miss 103 (WMSI), in reaching out to over 350 seniors
in central Mississippi. Jackson Association of Realtors, Inc. set up a Christmas tree, which displayed the names and wishes of seniors in the community, on November 23, 2001, in their
North State Street office. Miss 103 (WMSI) participated in the program by encouraging all of their listeners to come by and take a gift tag from the tree. In addition to the tree, the
Jackson Association of Realtors also developed an Internet website which displayed all of the gift tags online and allowed givers to select a senior without leaving their home or office.
All of the gifts were delivered by December 21, 2001, so the seniors received their gifts before Christmas. The District would like to thank everyone who participated in "Santa for
Seniors" this year. Because of continued interest and participation, the program has grown significantly and has been able to provide many needy seniors in our area with great joy
and needed items during the Holiday Season over the last twelve years.
